I am from the Pueblo of Acoma and a third generation potter. I have watched and helped my grandmother, Marie Miller, with her potteries. I stayed with her during the summer months and we would go gather clay and natural earth paints in the mountains and valley. I also learned from my mother, Mabel Vallo, who made large Ollas with beautiful designs.
I love making nativity scenes and animal storytellers. It is a great life to be a potter, being patient, hardworking and to make so many different figurines, potteries and then to share my gift of artwork to my collectors. As an artist, I've enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and it is always a pleasure to attend the SWAIA Indian market and other art shows.
My artwork has been showcased at SWAIA Indian market, Heard Museum show, Bernalillo Indian Market ,Pueblo Indian Market, New Mexico State Fair and other southwest shows.
